SaltGeeks History and More

  • SaltGeeks History and More

This is a layout and description of our past.

SaltGeeks was founded in early 2006 by a group of like minded hobbyists choosing to break away from another local reef club into an independent entity. This new organization was initially called the Marine Aquarium Society of Ohio

I was a founder, admin, and site designer of the other local club until the break away Feb 23, 2006.

The original founders of SaltGeeks are:
    Marinelife (me)
    BuckeyeDad (Nick)
    Reef Junky (Greg)
    satch12 (Ryan)
    marina (My wife)

Reef Junky has now moved on
satch12 is still around but working on his school work.
BuckeyeDad is out of the hobby for a while but may come back soon.

Since the beginning we have always pushed to be a club about the members and we continue to work on this everyday. One way we do this is by having member run committees instead of a Board of Directors. This has worked well for us in the past and we have no plans to change it in the future.
If you would like to get more involved with the club, check out one of the committees we have and ask to join.

    Our current Committees are:
    Group Trips
